Loda Electronics Company was started by Jack in 1990 in his garage located in Loda, Illinois. The first product was the repackaging of a state-of-the-art tractor guidance system for a local manufacturer of farm equipment. This led to the development of an eight-row selective weed sprayer.
Loda Electronics Company has recently added the NADP Aerochem type precipitation collector to its product line of meteorological and weather related instrumentation, including the mercury deposition model.
The weed sprayer, The Spot Shot, was recognized as one of the top 50 Agricultural Inventions of 1992 by the United States Association of Agricultural Engineers. In 1995, Bruce and Jack cooperated on a project that convinced them that they could be partners successfully. They designed and manufactured the joystick remote-controlled eyes for the largest monster robot to be used in a motion picture. The eyes, four of them, moved in all the needed directions and even glowed red to show anger. Unfortunately, the film was never made because the financial backer died and his children took the money and backed out. Since the partnership started, the business has grown to its present size.
We also provide management services by managing and staffing companies that want to maintain a virtual company. We presently do this for Burdette Medical Systems. We provide a Latchkey Manufacturing service to manufacture their product line. That facility is independent from the headquarters of Burdette and complies with the requirements of the FDA and will soon be qualified ISO-9000.
